Huxley's House on the Hatchie

Huxley's House on the Hatchie

The Story of Old Man Clucker

As the story is told.......There once was a man who lived by the riverbank where the Hatchie River meets up with the Cumberland River in Southwest Tennessee. His name was Huxley Clucker.  Huxley's family had a deep history of making moonshine in those very backwoods.  Huxley was a smart man when it came to covering his shine tracks.  He put a huge smoker next to the still to cover the smell of his shine operation with the scent of great smoked pork, beef, turkey and chicken. He had so many chickens around the homestead, his fellow Moonshiners game him the name "Old Man Clucker".

When Huxley passed away in the 1980's, his recipes for his rubs and sauces were hidden away. He wanted to keep them secret because everyone loved his smoked meat. That is until recently. They were found in the remains of this here old cabin on the Hatchie and now we want to bring OMC's rubs and sauces to you to enjoy as well.

So in honor of Old Man Clucker, we bring you OMC's own brand. Whether it's pork, beef, turkey or those cluckers running around, his rubs and sauces will compliment and enhance it's flavor. Everything is hand crafted and made local. We'll keep his secret, but share it with you.
